How do I register?
Registration is easy, all you need to do is click the link on the top navigation bar that says “Click here to register!!!” and create an account name and enter in your email for account verification. A random generated password will be sent to your email once you submit your information. Take that password and login to the site. The login link is located on the right side of the main page. You can change the password to whatever you would like it to be by clicking on the settings link on the right side of the user control panel page.
Why would I want to register?
When logged in, you can leave comments on posts, see posted content that is not able to be viewed by guests and you can also contribute your own videos and pictures.
What if I have trouble registering?
If you have trouble registering, please email the site admin at admin@shiftkontrol.com. We will try to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Why do you need my email address for registration?
Your email is needed to keep site spammers out. Also, if you forget your password, it is easy to request an automated reset where the password will be sent to the email address you entered during registration.
How do I download MotoGP, AMA, WSBK races?
To download the races, first you will need a bit torrent client such as utorrent. There are a number of others circulating the web, but I find this one to be one of the best. If you prefer another feel free to use which ever fits you best. Do not pay for torrent clients, most of the bittorrent clients are available for free on the web. If you paid for one it may be malware and could harm your computer. You can download utorrent here. Once you have downloaded and installed your torrent client, proceed to download the torrent from the website. On most web browsers, it will automatically detect that you have a torrent program installed and ask if you would like the program to open the file for you, select yes if you want to start downloading the file immediately or no if you would like to download the race video at another time. The torrent file itself is only a few kilobytes in size and downloads quickly. Now by default utorrent saves downloaded files in either the C:\downloads, C:\my documents\downloads or for vista users c:\user\<account name>\downloads directory respectively. However you can change this by going into the settings of utorrent. You can get more information on this here. After you have downloaded the video, just open it as you would most videos you view on your PC and enjoy!
What if I am having difficulties viewing the video after downloading?
If you are having problems view the races after successfully downloading them via utorrent, then try downloading VLC which is another media player like Windows Media Player or Quicktime. You can download vlc here. VLC is known to open most video files and I have tested it on almost all the race videos that are available on this site.
What if I cannot see a video loaded in a post?
If you cannot see a video in a post, make sure you have flash installed on your pc. You can download flash here.
What do I do if someone has made or posted objectional material on the site?
If someone posts something that is objectionable to you, please email the site admin at marlo@shiftkontrol.com and we will handle it. Do not respond or post threats to anyone who posts objectionable material on this site, the site admin will handle such problems. Shift Kontrol will not tolerate any racist, sexist, threats or derogatory remarks on this site. Contributors to this site not following these rules will be banned permanantly. This is the only warning.
